Ride Trips

Due to some time sharing thingy, my sis and me were granted a voucher to stay overnight in Genting Highlands as a reward for our “obedience” to sit through the whole session and gave necessary replies. Anyway, that was about a year ago. As it was a free voucher, of course, there were strings attached and it was rather hard to book a place during holidays. The voucher would be expired this coming week, so after rescheduling a few times. The best is only yesterday. Yet, we were not keen to take leave as annual leave entitlement is not luxury enough. Though it’s a little odd that we book the apartment the same one day trip that we planned, but I guess it was better than nothing at all. Besides, if it’s really that tiring, then could take a little cat nap.

Well, that’s a rather long introduction. Anyway, that trip was what I called a ride trip. Of all the few times I went to Genting, I have never attempted any rides, indoor or outdoor. Also did not expect to be taking any rides this time. Well, just went up the highlands, my sis’s friend queued up to buy the day pass, and the next time, we were lining up for the rides.

The arrangement was easy, we go for the more exciting rides first, but from mild to more heart stopping. There were 4 such rides, excluding the newer Flying Coaster which has to pay additional 10 bucks. The 4 were what I called “The Banging One”, “The Flinging One”, “The Turning One” and “The Commit Suicide One”. Can you guess? Well, if you have been the theme park in Genting, I assume it’s not an unfamiliar to you, unlike me. I don’t remember the real name they give to “The Flinging One” but it’s the colourful flinging around thingy. The other 3 are – Super Toboggan, Corkscrew and Space Shot.

As I lined up for the rides, I was given engineering courses by my sis and her friend. Telling me the concept of the rides, how mechanical was used followed by free fall. Tsk, tsk, typical of engineers. ;)

I was having palpitations as I was waiting for my turns. Things were not better with people shouting and screaming. Must be getting old and hey, I was actually paying for people to give me a fright!! As I was waiting under the sun for the Space Shot, I even worried that during the ride, I would be so scared that would experience the fight and flight response, which includes uncontrolled micturation. Can’t help it; at that time felt that my bladder was rather full. Who knows that nature would accidentally call? ;) (Ahem, if you are wondering, nope, it did not occur.)

Oh yah, before I forget, if you have not tried the Space Adventure. Take my kind piece of mind. Don’t. Just don’t. We lined up for quite a while, expecting it to be kind of swinging thing, well, it did swing subtly but the description would be more of accurate if I use the word vibrate. We even worry on how to place the cameras so that they wouldn’t fell, and the signboard did say it was not for the weak hearted!! But all the machine did was VIBRATE! So, you know what to do…

This post seems kind of long already, so… shall not drag it and make it any longer. But just an after note, I used to think that Genting is those family outing place but somehow I noted high frequency of super lovey-dovey thingy. Is it the date to go that I picked or the rides that I chose? I don’t know.

MP3 Player

Have been seeing MP3 players everywhere I looked. Funny, it’s like waving its hand, telling me “Buy! Buy!” Crap, but figuratively, that’s what I felt.

Went to Carrefour in Mid Valley the other day, on the front page of its monthly promotion booklet – there is this Malaysian manufactured MP3 Player – 256 MB, voice recording, and built-in radio receiver. Fine.

As I was reading my dose of Saturday newspaper, the word MP3 player seem to emphasize and bold among all the advertisement – another brand but nevertheless 256 MB MP3 Player, USB 2.0, hours recording time, multi-languages & lyric display function ….

Another instant was when I went to Taiwan with a couple of friends. One of them brought along a MP3 player. That small thing is just so tempting. Small yet so big a memory capacity. Handy, sleek…

Or when my colleague asked me to pass a MP3 player to my other colleague. I kept it in my drawer, waiting for my colleague to come back from meeting. Waiting & waiting, it was late & I left before she came back. Perhaps I should’ve brought it home with me, rather than leaving it all alone in my cold drawer overnight. Could even felt it blinking at me pitifully as I closed the drawer & locked it for the night. (Note: I’m still sane, very much.)

Yes, it is still waving its hand to me… asking me to grab one… but no, haven’t got it yet. Thus it is still there, looking at me from various magazines, newspapers, advertisements….

Hair

Recently read Dr Liew's blog on how long haired girls are able to attract guys more than short haired girls. Pretty hilarious while you were reading it, as Dr Liew mentioned no matter what gender you are, long pretty hair will surely make guys nose bleed.
I had been wanting to cut my hair for quite sometime. Too long for easy maintenance. Not to mention the amount of shampoo as well as conditioner. Had been wanting to go to the salon to cut it short, until I read Dr Liew's blog. Went to do some survey among the guy friends of mine. They said, "Sadly but true. Girls with long hair tend to attract more guys than the short haired one" I guess, too much shampoo advertisement. Either that or pontianaks, if they combed their hair will sure attract more nose bleed without any scare.
Anyhow, nite cut her hair short. I guess by now, everyone should had already guessed. I cut mine as well. Pretty funny though when I was in the salon. Frequent question the people there would ask, "Do you want to dye your hair?" and "Don't you feel sad cutting your hair?"
I guess it will defeat the purpose if everyone felt sad cutting their hair wouldn't it? I mean, if every girl or guy felt sad cutting their hair, they wouldn't be having customers would they? So snip and snap the scissors went. And so did my the length of my hair. Took me almost 2 hours just to cut my hair. Was so restless, eventhough I had my book with me to read.
When he finally finished, I hadn't realised that my hair could look so bouncy! :p I guessed with the weight of my hair while it was long, my hair actually looked flat! hehe... Well, feeling rather light on my head...till the next hair cut.

Hair

Ok, here it is... out of the blue, I opened my eyes on Saturday morning. Despite of Dr Liew's blog on long hair, I dragged myself out from my bed, took my bike out, chopped my hair short, sat under this hot, steaming air for 30 minutes, hearing the hairdresser "complaining" that my hair is too course, too much. Thats the part of the reason why i need to be cooked under the hot steaming air for 3 different sessions while she trying to pull my hair...
And by the way, just for the record, i was practically having long hair for quite a while but i am still single... so i dont know if long hair really got those "attraction".

The hairdresser was practically asking and confirming whether i really want to chop it short. Somemore asked if i want to keep on hair... hahah.. it has never ever cross my mind of wanting to keep my cut off hair. As if i dont have enough rubbish to clog up my room.

Reasons that i justify to myself as to why I did it...

1. I must've woken on the wrong side of the bed
2. I must've been crazy where there are times when i too "chong dong"
3. I am way too lazy to tie & comb my hair each time I get off my bike
4. I want to sleep longer
5. U tell me...

Back!

Came back to work today. Found alot of interesting things while I am gone.

The world still goes on eventhough I'm not around! :p Inbetween seemed to be madly in love. Nite went away and was lost for words in those places she went!

Well, I'm not too bad myself. Hadn't been falling in love..hahaha...but did get to spend alot of time hanging upside down for the past few days. And want to know something?

The sky is bluer. The grass is greener. The flowers are prettier. The food is bigger and more delicious. The dogs are more obedient. The streets are cleaner. The air is fresher. The people is whiter! haha.....seriously...am not joking.

Let me get on with my list.

Their accent are weird even though we speak the same language. The animals are one of the kind. I now know how the Drs had the idea of C-section. By observing these animals. Amazing! I didn't realise that the seagulls are of the same size as the pigeons. I always thought that the seagulls are way way bigger than that. Perhaps the TV has a magnifying effect on animals.

The people are so so friendly. Have you ever seen salesgirls or promoters in shopping complex actually dances while they are working? No? Me either...if you are from the same country as I am. So so darn polite that they actually makes you feel good? Thus you are able to buy more stuff from them? Marketing strategy I would think. Really bring out the true meaning of 'service with a smile!'

There aren't any tall buildings though. The highest there would be 5 storeys? Houses there are gigantic. Compared to my house, it looked puny! Hmm...houses and cars there are really cheap. With the cost of my snooopy car here I can get a much much larger car there. I guess you and I will not be able to really say "This is Life" until you been there. Not much activities there. Everything closes at 5pm. The sky goes dark at 6pm. Streest empty by 7:30pm. Where in the world did all the people go. I'm still searching for the answer. There are no mamak stalls there. Privacy is a BIG thing. I guess they have more time for themselves. Maybe that's why they have such enthusiasm while working!

What really puzzles me most is, how in the world are they able to complete their work if they start from 9-5pm with 5 days of work per week? Must be really really smart those people.

So there goes my life being upside down. Coming back right side up seemed weird all of the sudden. Perhaps Life being down under is much better. If there are any place where the grass is greener on the other side of the fence? This will be the place. Can't really show how green the grass is though, cause it is winter, but the sky is bluer. Ask anyone who had been there! More stars too for those star gazing lovers!

Well, that's all for now...

I dont want to go back to work!!

Must be the long hiatus that my brain is not working properly. Condition aggravated by the fact that tomorrow I have to wake up earlier due to road block. Heard that it starts at 7.30 am to 8.30 am, which means that I have to leave house by 7.00 am??

So, do forgive me but I think the brain just can’t really generate some output for proper, elaborated description on the long leave that I had taken. Don’t scold yet, but I believe if I put up a certain photograph, you would know where I’ve been the past week. ;)

Well, I think it’s not a hard guess… so no prize for guessing correctly. So, what’s there? Food, food and food. There are also lots of night markets which sells – FOOD as well. I think the rate that I eat is probably equivalent to the amount that I ate during Chinese New Year. Even the normal rice with dishes came with 8 different dishes and a soup, not forgetting dessert and fruits. The fruits were usually oranges and they are all sweet, not sour at all. Unfortunately that I was dining with a rather big group of 8, otherwise would’ve taken photo of all the meals before eating.

Night market is the “IN” thing there… I suppose. But I noticed that the big huge difference of the night market there and pasar malam here is that there are no pirated CDs, VCDs and DVDs. Well, what can I say, the CDs, and its counterpart is relatively cheaper than here. Most of it are food, and a little of earrings, clothes and costume jewelry.

Hmm… really kind of lost of words. See, told you must be the long hiatus that I can’t compute words. Well, then, shall substitute with pictures. :)
