The Art of Going to Pasar Malam

The last couple of weeks, Little P brought me to pasar malam... and taught me the art of going to pasar malam.

1. Must leave work at 5.15 sharp, if not max must leave by 5.30 pm
2. Must go to pasar malam early to avoid the crowd
3. If drive, must park near the pasar malam but not too near so that easier to go off
4. If ride motorbike, must bring a pillion rider so that can buy more things
5. If die die cannot find someone to go, can only buy small small things so can bring home
6. When want to buy things, ask your friend to stand in front to hog a bit of space so that the probability of ordering is higher.

But anyway... no more pasar malam for the time being... got class every Tuesday for the next 2 months.

We walked and walked till finally spotted it at one of the stalls

Little P: Ei, buy 3 lar. One put in house, one put in office, one in case patah (break)
Nite: But its RM 3.50 wor, buy 3 more than RM 10 already.
Little P: Then buy 2. One put in house and one in case patah.
Nite: Ok ok.. but wont be so fragile gua...

Yesterday...
The weather was rather hot, thought I'll bun up my hair.
Nite: Aiyak... i broke it -__-"

Bay bee dino was having a good laugh and ask me to post it... so here are some pictures...

The broken off part. The one on the right, I've tried to "shaved" off the chipped off part

This is how the original one look like

This is the comparison between the one broken and the one not... See.. the part broken is thin.. not my fault :P

Vietnam Jackfruit Chips

Well... that colleague of ours who invited us over for lunch, had actually just went back to Vietnam last week... and he brought this back. It's sort of like snack, tid bits to be exact. However, it has all the original taste of jack fruit. Aside from jack fruit, there's also banana one but that one seems to be sticking to teeth. I quote from Day, "You eat one, you will have to spend 10 minutes trying to clean your teeth."

But this jack fruit one is good. So, if you do go to Vietnam, try looking for it. Guess it good to be brought back as souvenir, a lot of people can share the food ;)

Yummy

Lucky... one of our Vietnam colleagues invited us to have a vietnamese food lunch. The food is so good. Now I know why my colleague goes home everyday during lunch for his home-cooked lunch. Also he never orders the company food, cos he also got home-cooked dinner.

Lucky us... get to eat nice, Vietnamese food prepared by Vietnamese :)

Yummy... vietnamese food is good :)

Resuscitate

I was off blogging for a while... though not as long as the certain piggy who oinked at Piggy Tales, but anyway, I was on hiatus for a pretty long while.

Well, I guess the writing just take a step back together with the loss of internet connection. A friend commented that the condition was as if I had loss of both arms and both legs :P
So I guess if that was the case, I'm recovered... as streamyx is resuscitate. So in the meanwhile, me chasing the last 2 disc of Prince of Tennis which had keep me company through the "dark" 2 months... and busy keeping up with the loss episodes of Naruto and Bleach.

Able to watch anime and read manga is a bliss. :)

And this.. is manually crushed sugar.. to make it fine so that it dissolve when shake with cocktail shaker. It's part of the ingredient to make gimlet...

... and.. this is manually squeezed lime juice. I got limited kitchen apparatus.. so everything have to do manually, without machinery aid... but me bodoh, forgot to take the picture of the final product. :P

------------------------------------

And the below... is the pop up card that I made for a colleague as she has left for the greener pasture

There... end of miscellaneous posting :P

Little P: Cos you not desperate yet

Nite: But.. I am desperate also...

Little P: O_o

Nite: Desperate for internet

Little P: Nothing to do with boyfriend also

Nite: Got... I need a boyfriend so that
1. I can go his house to surf the net
2. He can subsidize me for internet subscription

Unofficial??

A conversation I had with Roach the other day.....

Day: What happen to you? (looking at him being restless)
Roach: Bad thing happened. I had a fight with my girlfriend.
Day: Ooo... about what?
Roach: It is funny, the relationship that we are having. I don't know why she is so upset. It isn't like she is my girlfriend.
Day: uh? I thought you mentioned that she is?
Roach: It is unofficial. I only see her two times and I'm not ready to start a relationship. Want it to go slow...
Day: I see....

Just now....

Day: talking, talking... so want to go or not?
Roach: But but I have to ask my girlfriend if she want to go or not.
Day: o_O I thought she is not your girlfriend?
Roach: Unofficial girlfriend.
Day: What?! How can you tell people that you have a girlfriend when you are treating her like she is not? What do you mean it is unofficial? A girlfriend means girlfriend, how can it be unofficial??
Roach: .....

Can anyone explain to me what does unofficial girlfriend means?

I got tagged but don't know whats the title...

Well.. the title says all.. got tagged by Purple Rose and unfortunately cant play it her way... shuffling the songs cos
  1. I dont even have a MP3 player
  2. I dont have that huge collection of English songs :P

So... I guess I'll have to answer it the conventional way. Besides, this thing would keep me off working for a while.

1) How does the world see me?
I have no idea... have to ask the world.

2) Will I have a happy life?
Haha.. I wish. Tell me all about it.

3) What do people really think of me?
Perhaps I could tag a few people and see their answer for No 1... then i'll know.

4) Do people secretly lust after me?
hahahahahahah... this is funny

5) How can I make myself happy?
If I know... I wont be sad or depressed.

6) What should I do with my life?
Ceh... you tell me. If I know, I would do it.. there wouldnt be any "should"

7) What would be good advice for me?
You do give yourself advice... do you?

8) What do I think my current theme song is?
我难过 ~ still at that... its a good theme song, at least the title is

9) What does everyone think my current theme song is?
一首简单的歌 by Lee Hom (i actually ask my friend, she answered that)

10) What song will play at my funeral?
probably some Buddhist song... I'm being realistic

11) What type of women do you like?
Erm.. arent you suppose to ask my guy friends that question instead of me?

12) What's my day going to be like?
stressful with overwhelming work

13) Why am I here?
to do some typing...

14) What will people remember me for?
the anti social gal

15) Are there people outside waiting to take me away?
nope.. i dont even have to check at the balcony

16) What will this year be about?
if i know... then question no 5 and no 6 can be throw out of the window.

This tag is not the-very-fun... so I shall be good and not tag :P

Yawn!!

Take a look at the time of this post... well, I just woke up 3 hours ago, at 10 pm. Took at "nap" at 5 pm just now... and woke up at 10 pm. Didnt really want to wake up but just check the time on my mobile phone and noted of a sms my friend sent. Well, i have to compose a long email to reply that... might as well. Anyway, after this post, I'm going off to bed :D

I didnt really blog as much nowadays, not that there isnt anything going around. In brief, it's basically work, work and work. I'm overwhelm with work, can barely finish anything and putting up with everybody who seem so change their mind over a few days or hours. I'm tired.

To top that up, last Tuesday I accidentally knock the motorbike in front of me and someone knocked me from behind cos Mr Front braked and Mr Behind decided that I should pay him regardless the big fat fact that he knocked me from behind. Well...dont know what was in my head then, I refuse to pay him... argued with him at the road side. He was smoking and giving me threatening stares, aside from stomping on my bike. Yes.. you know, how people actually put their weight on someone's car/bike. He did that and nobody comes to my rescue and me... dont know what got into me, still refuse to pay him. I offered to go to police station though, to report on that small incident and obviously he declined.

Well, thereafter he "graciously" told me he will let me off cos I'm a girl. (well... if so, how come he stomped on my bike... I wonder) but things didnt end there. Upon reaching office, notice my bike got a flat tyre. Or going to be flat one, took it over to one of the petrol station but confirmed dead. The magic of petrol stations are that mechanics would scribble their phone number on the floor or at the place where you pump air so I resorted to calling each and every one till I got a mechanic to come over. (apparently there are few phone numbers that doesnt belong to a workshop).

So there... short update on my days, a week ago.. I'm off to bed, again! ;)

After a long break

OK ok.....nite had been bugging me to blog...so here goes.

Ever heard of blogger's block? Been having it cause seriously don't know what to say. It is hard to write a funny blog all the time. Time consuming to think of a poem to blog it. Erm...piggy had an ingenious idea on doing that! :p And a tad bit boring to be complaining over and over and over and over the same stuffs. Am waiting though for nite's adventure the exotic place. hehe...

Anyway... I have been curious. Shoot me! I just read about this blog on man and woman. Naturally I'm curious.

You know how they always say when you are in a relationship, you should be this this this and that that that? And you should be behaving this this this and that that that? Actually, how come the partner expect you to be something which you are not? And shouldn't this be the factor that he or she is interested in you in the first place? So .... what do you people think?

I woke up at 7.30 am to...

WASH MY BIKE!!!

Believe it or not.. but i really did woke up at 7.30 am this very morning just to wash my bike. The last time I washed my bike was on 9/7/05, cos i blogged it up :P

Well... i have a choice of waiting for Piggy to come back and wash at her place again, but sad to say bikey is kind of really dirty, even more dirty than last time, i dont know why. Somehow some thing is nagging at me to wash it... so I set my alarm at 7.30 am today and wash it.

Why so early? Well, there's only one "public tap" at where I'm staying, and at about 9 am, there's this car washing service being provided. Hence, in order for me to wash my bike, I will have to do it either early morning or late late at night.

Well... there.. its now clean :) Let's now hope it last more than 6 months :P

It's not fair!!!

Valentine's Day is approaching and as i surf the net, I noticed some thing...

Have you ever realise that the gifts suggested to buy a guy is way more interesting than gift suggestions for girls?

I saw this in a popular search enginee front page:

Ideas for Her - Handbags, Jewelry, Fragrances
Ideas for Him - Cell Phones, MP3 Players, Digital Cameras

Dont you think its a little too bias? Why cant buy Her cell phones, MP3 Players, Digital Cameras? What makes people think that only He would like those cool gadgets?

What do you think?

Did anyone ask you these questions during CNY?

"Do you have BF yet?"

"Aiyo, still none ar? Why you so picky?"

"That guy not good meh?"

"I thought that guy is your BF? No ar?"

Ok, lets get this straight.

Point 1:
I'm the youngest in my generation at my mother's side and that i'm the 4th youngest in my generation at my father's side (I have 3 cousin brother younger than me, thats all.)

Point 2:
I didnt go back to my hometown this CNY. This also means that I didnt see most of my uncles, aunties, cousins. The only relative I visited was my youngest uncle cos he stays in Klang.

I listed down the 2 points cos I have valid reasons as to why I shouldnt be asked those questions. Ok see... i'm the basically sort of youngest in my generation which means that I have quite a few cousin brothers and sisters and coincidentally there are like 2 cousin brothers that havent found the other half yet and my sis havent tie the knot yet. So... shouldnt all my relatives gang up and generate their pressure over there...instead of asking me?

Also I thought that I would escape those questions... unfortunately, i think my mother foresee that her counterparts wont be around to give me those apparently friendly chat, so she go full force this year. Here are a few of the "pointers" my mom gave -_-"

"That so and so from your sister's company, next time go out eat with people lar."

"Next time, ask er jie to bring her so and so back. I wont come to stay, then so and so wont be pai seh."

"That guy not your BF ar?"

"That guy no GF or not? He not bad mah, can consider."

"If like that guy, then must take initiative. If gone liao, then no more."

Me? *Faint

(note: So and so and that guy is a different person)

CNY mystery

At this time every year...ok....at various time every year, we would celebrate Chinese New Year. Be it in the month of February, January, or something, the weather will remain the same. HOT HOT HOT!! And I can never understand why is that so? Can anyone explain this to me?

We just had this festival - "Pass over winter" or something...Koh Tong. And after winter should be spring rite? But why does it feels like summer here? Sigh...mother nature had gotten her compas all upside down. Or is it because we ARE upside down? Who knows?

Well...to all of you people out there! Have a great New Year! And stay off of the sun..while I go get myself a nice cold drink!

Most beautiful woman

They had just announced who is Malaysia's most beautiful woman.....If you want to know, go read the newspaper. I think they would had published her out first thing tomorrow morning. Got to say, at least the judges is honest. haha...

Makes me wonder - since they had already elected Malaysia's most beautiful woman where they say the lady is beautiful not only on the outside, but also on the inside. And if one would want to compare the winner with some of the ladies I know, I think she wouldn't have stood a chance. Anyhow...if the MOST beautiful woman have been crowned. I guess there wouldn't be another person would it?

:p Maybe I'm jealous. Don't play play, she won herself an apartment and a large amount of cash. Not to mention jewels that may earn her another large amount of dough. But enough of the green eye monster.

Question:- what makes a woman beautiful?

Stocking up for 'winter'

For the ever ever first time in my life...

I do not need rush to Puduraya and get a bus ticket to go home. The last time I remember, I had to take a bus to HKL bus station, walk to Titiwangsa LRT to Plaza Rakyat and get the shuttle bus to Duta Station. Its not that I didnt want to take cab but if you do not know cabs in KL are head chopping kind.. also stupid me didnt even know where is Duta Station then.

I do not need to take my bike to Sungai Long so that I can tumpang my sister's car back to hometown.

I do not need to pester my sister to tell me how many days of leave I need to take cos she is the one planning the drive back home.

However, for the 1st time in my life I am here in KL celebrating CNY and I'm pretty worry that I'll be too free and mudding wont take up so many days of my hols. So I need to stock up for DVDs/VCDs/books for this CNY so I wont be bored. AND NO... I DONT NOT WISH TO WORK OVER THE CNY (though I could clear some stuff... no.. scratch that thought)

I dare not touch the naruto anime so that I got more things to watch... hmm... and i'm going to ransack Piggy's house for more comics or books :D
Anyone got more books or movie or anime to loan me? ;)

My Life As an Underwriter

Got this job as my first offer,
Quickly grasp, others didn't even consider,
"Yes! I'll take it. No need differ,
By the way, what is an underwriter?"

I asked around hoping for answers,
Some told me it is the same as undertakers,
Some asked if I need to write under the table,
"Sure it is not illegal??"

"I think it is not, I hope it is not,
I heard this job is hot,
Went in, have to learn until brain clot,
Only thing they didn't ask me to do is to hop.

Learn about risk management,
Also health assessment, and spiritual discernment,
Also lie detector just by what the clients declare,
"Decline the case!" when lying clients dare.

I didn't know I have to be part doctor, part detective,
I didn't know I have to be part psychic, part artist,
I didn't know I have to be part lawyer, part persuasive,
I didn't know I have to be very very creative.

Who told me underwriters are boring?
Who laughed at me when late in office I'm staying?
Now who is amazed at me at this vast knowledge I'm learning?
Who is at awe at this large oppurtunity I'm having?

"Underwriters are boring!"
Hah! That's what you are thinking,
With this policies that I'm reading,
Money to me you will be paying!
